You can learn with us

  • You can expect a demanding day-to-day work in the areas of heavy goods transport, shipping engineering and wind power logistics. During your training, you will get to know all the tasks associated with planning and organizing international sea and project transport.
  • You will get to know the varied tasks of international project work. Heavy lift is a varied field of activity with many special projects.
  • By regularly changing departments, you will get a well-founded insight into the tasks of our partner companies United Wind Logistics GmbH and United Engineering Solutions GmbH.
  • You will deepen your English skills in practice by working closely with our agents and customers around the world. We promote English language courses.

Your qualifications

  • General university / technical college entrance qualification, a good secondary school diploma or equivalent international school leaving certificate
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Confident use of the PC (MS Office knowledge)
  • High self-motivation, reliability and a strong team and communication skills

Deine Qualifikation

  • Allgemeine Hoch-/Fachhochschulreife, ein guter Realschul- oder äquivalenter internationaler Schulabschluss
  • Gute Mathekenntnisse sowie gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Schrift und Wort
  • Sicherer Umgang mit dem PC (MS Office Kenntnisse)
  • Hohe Eigenmotivation, Zuverlässigkeit und eine ausgeprägte Team- und Kommunikationsfähigkeit

Schifffahrt selbst erleben und gestalten – ein klares Ziel voraus: „Kapitän/in auf Großer Fahrt“. Als Teil einer internationalen Besatzung möchtest du die Führung von Seeschiffen erlernen.

An Bord unserer Deck Carrier kannst du alle notwendigen Arbeiten und Tätigkeiten für den Einstieg in das Nautik Studium erlernen und gleichzeitig die nötige Fahrtzeit sammeln. Im zweiten Praxissemester kannst du deine erlangten Fähigkeiten anwenden und weiter ausbauen – auf dem Weg zum nautischen Wachoffizier.

For our Legal department, we are looking for immediate and permanent (full or part time) reinforcement at our headquarters in Hamburg's HafenCity.

Marine Insurance and Contracts Manager (f/m/d)
30 to 40 hours/week

  • Sparring and consulting with the commercial team incl. overseas offices within UNITED companies and
    providing risk management advise on shipping contracts and marine insurance related risks
  • Support Chartering, Operations, and Projects department according to prevailing procedures in relation to negotiations, drafting, and review of shipping contracts
  • Drafting and reviewing templates for quotations and Charter Parties
  • Supporting, guiding, handling, and supervision of maritime, commercial claims, and customer claims in line with company procedures
  • Assist on developing the IT landscape/digitalization for contract/insurance management
  • Compliance checks in line with company procedures
  • Supporting Head of Legal in arranging and handling of marine insurances, incl. extended covers for
    project related risks (i.e. H&M, P&I, Charterers Liability, FDD, etc.)
  • Communication with external advisors related to shipping contracts and maritime claims handling (i.e. marine insurers, brokers, lawyers, surveyors, BIMCO)

Required qualifications

  • Background in legal, insurance, or shipping - ideally with experience in heavy lift shipping and tramp operations
  • Alternatively, you have a background from postfixing, or technical inspection departments or similar
    assistant positions or you successfully finished your apprenticeship
  • Strong interest in maritime, commercial contracts and contract law
  • You are interested to learn about contractual risks, drafting charter parties (BIMCO), and (marine) insurances
  • You have an affinity for digitalization and implementation of smart digital tools
  • You are interested in the maritime industry and the inherent challenges of this market
